Who would Wall Street value more as a CEO Lance Armstrong or Mark Cavendish?

If Lance Armstrong and Mark Cavendish ran companies like they race, who would Wall Street value more? I would venture to say Mark Cavendish.

I don’t think anyone would doubt that Armstrong is the more legendary cyclist and that there is no way Cavendish could compete for the yellow jersey, but, that is not what Wall Street looks at.

Wall Street is looking for someone who rack up the consistency points when they want to see them. Someone who can execute the a strategy that helps them reach their monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals. That is why I think investors would like to see a Mark Cavendish CEO rather than a Lance Armstrong CEO. What do you think?

  1. It’s all about results. Lance Armstrong produced results consistently for almost a decade. He showed lazer focus to his priorities, by opting out of other races, to obtain those results. Cavendish is an excellent cyclist, but hasn’t produced the same results as Armstrong. I’m goin to have to disagree.
