Less than a week after writing the post on having our values set properly for our organizations, I saw this in my town. As I read the sign on the top of this car, I thought that is why we need to set our limits in our organizations. This is a photo of an investor who was buying properties and was told the property was one thing and it really was another. The real estate agent represented both the buyer and the seller on the deal making double the commission they normally would. When the buyer found out (too late) that they had bought a duplex and not a triplex they were told it was their own fault for not checking more closely. The buyer’s response to this was to park in front of the office with a sign on top of his car advising everyone of the questionable ethics of this agent and brokerage. Was the commission on the sale worth sacrificing the reputation of the agent and brokerage? You be the judge.
